17th December 2024
In recent years, Indonesia has faced several significant challenges in the healthcare sector, such as limited medical facilities in certain areas and the need to optimize healthcare technology. In response to these challenges, Tawada Healthcare, a company engaged in medical devices and disposable medical supplies, has formed a partnership with the Academic Hospital (RSA) of Gadjah Mada University (UGM) by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to improve healthcare services and accelerate the development of medical technology in Indonesia.
The MoU was signed on December 9, 2024, at UGM, coinciding with a seminar themed "Hospital and Business Partnership to Strengthen Indonesia Healthcare." The signing was carried out by the CEO of PT Tawada Healthcare, Satrija Sumarkho, and the President Director of RSA UGM, Darwito. The collaboration covers various fields, including joint research, the development of training programs for medical professionals, and the implementation of the latest healthcare technologies at RSA UGM facilities.
The seminar event began with remarks from UGM's Rector, Ova Emilia, and was followed by showcases of the latest technology. One of these was the CORI Robotic Surgical System for total knee replacement surgery, which uses robots to improve accuracy and precision. Additionally, augmented reality technology through MyVeo was introduced to support neurosurgery, as well as the latest hemodialysis technology from Baxter AK 98 for safer and more effective dialysis procedures.
Tawada Healthcare and RSA UGM also collaborate in the development of medical staff training and the provision of advanced medical equipment, such as the Vitros 3600, to enhance the quality of blood transfusion services at RSA UGM's Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD). The placement of this equipment is expected to accelerate and improve the accuracy of blood infection testing, supporting safer transfusion processes.
This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of both parties to support the development of healthcare services through the integration of hospitals, medical education, research, and technological innovation. As a teaching hospital, RSA UGM will focus on the development of human resources and medical research, while Tawada Healthcare will provide the latest medical technology solutions and training in accordance with national standards.
Through this MoU, both institutions hope to drive innovation and further development in Indonesia's healthcare sector, as well as improve access to and the quality of medical services that are more affordable and efficient. Tawada Healthcare, with its experience since 1999, is committed to continuing its role in creating innovative solutions to address Indonesia's healthcare challenges.
